Website Accessibility Basics
January 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Recent court cases are making it clearer: ADA probably requires your site to be accessible to people with disabilities.
People with visual impairments or mobility challenges (or other disabilities) need to be able to use your website too! The CDC estimates that about 25% of all adults in the US have a permanent or temporary disability. There are ways to make your site more accessible!
In this presentation, Bet Hannon will show how sites made properly accessible can be used by individuals who are blind or who cannot use a mouse, and what you need to do to start making your site more accessible. We will also discuss why it’s good business and good user experience to make sites accessible.
As always, parking does not require a permit at OSU after 5pm. After the presentation, we will gather for a social time at Cascade Lakes Lodge across the street. Everyone is welcome to join us!
